Royal Caribbean Cruise

Our first extended family vacation was on board the Royal Caribbean Cruise. It was Awesome! A refreshing and wonderful change from Star Cruises. The cabins were very much bigger and more classy. Kong Kong and Ah Mah took a room with a balcony. That was even better! Kong Kong enjoyed himself but he prefers Genting Highlands casino to the casino onboard the ship. Ah mah? She prefers Star cruises! Roland, Miriam and Kenneth? We like the Royal Caribbean Cruise. Maybe, we will try a more expensive cruise vessel the next time?? (Roland just fainted!)

For those who have not witnessed birth before, here is a video clip of Samuel when he was just taken out of his mother's womb, and some other newborn photos...

Some pictures of Samuel...

Re-live the Joy

+ Our second son, Samuel Goh, arrived in the world on the 2 May 08 at 1655 hrs. A lot of people ask me why we chose the name Samuel and I would jokingly reply because we are typical Singaporeans - even our sons' names Kenneth and Samuel (KS in short), means Kia Soo to Singaporeans (For those of you who are not from Singapore, Kia Soo means "afraid to lose out" in Hokkien dialect, a characteristic that Singaporeans have been known to be).

Anyway, I decided to set up this blog after talking to Miriam and we agreed that we did so much more for Kenneth when he was born compared to Samuel. For instance, we took so many pictures of Kenneth when he was born, but we had only very few for Samuel. I remember even making a video clip on Kenneth on the journey of his birth. The purpose of this blog to help remind me that I want to be fair to both my kids and love them regardless of whether they are my first or second, or whether he looks more like me or Miriam.

Thanks for taking time to visit this blog. For those who are not married or are not parents yet, I hope this blog will also be your inspiration to find the courage to set up a family. There is nothing that can replace this feeling of being a parent and watching your child grow, watching the first time he smile at you, hearing him call you "papa" or "mama" for the first time. In this world where we hear so much about divorce and broken families, it can be disheartening to would-be parents. But to us, life is a journey. A family without kids is never complete.
